Born 1990 in a laboratory. Celebrated birthday: March 1st

Willy B arrived with Mave and Honey B on August 18, 2019 after Wildlife Waystation in California announced it was closing and searching for homes for all of their residents.

Willy B was born at the Laboratory for Experimental Medicine and Surgery in Primates (LEMSIP). When LEMSIP closed in 1996, Willy B went to Wildlife Waystation along with over 30 other chimpanzees.

We’re still getting to know him. So far we’ve noticed that he has a way of chomping down on and chewing his food in a very exaggerated and enthusiastic way. He also frequently holds his feet, like in the photo on this page. He’s a real screen addict, wanting to view photos and videos whenever someone pulls out their phone. Overall, he’s a big lovable guy!
